We stayed on a Saturday night. The welcome was fantastic....prior to checking-in, we inquired where we could park. The owner immediately re moved her own car from a parking space adjacent to the bar to allow us to park. We received lots of helpful info during our check-in. Our room was above the bar area and we were made aware that the bar would be very noisy until 12:30. We had expected noise when we booked...it is a bar after all. Indeed it was noisy. The bar is very lively and has a great atmosphere. We had a couple of drinks and everyone was friendly. Breakfast is Continental. Sufficient selection of cereals, bread, cheese & yoghurt. We loved the friendliness of everyone we met. If you're on a budget, this is a great stop-over. Edinburgh is only 25 minutes by train. Spotlessly clean, well appointed room for the price, friendly staff and patrons.
Lorraine the manageress makes sure everything runs smoothly here & goes out her way to help. Rooms are spacious,clean & big comfortable bed,en suite with towels & toiletries provided. Tea/ coffee making facilities in room & continental breakfast next morning. On Friday & Saturday there is a karaoke .however this finished at a decent time so did not disturb those residing
